poplar; very heavy; dark stain; hand-planed top; 3/8" wood; 1/2" lip; mitered corners; darkgreen triangles at corners; 16 frets, each 3/4" wide, have been filed to make them less low-action frets; shows evidence of having been refretted; first fret is on metal; 4 strings; two layers of metal at tuner end of fretboard; evidence of writing on back: "BMW" and "BW"
